England announces squad for the third test (Social Media)

Sports News: England has announced their test squad ahead of the third test at Lord's against India. Speedster Jofra Archer has replaced Josh Tongue, who played the first two matches. The Anderson-Tendulkar trophy is currently leveled at 1-1, making the remaining three matches even more anticipated. India defeated the hosts in the Birmingham test after facing a shocking defeat at Leeds in the first test. The pressure will be on the hosts, as they play again at the home of cricket, to take a much-needed lead in the series. India, on the other hand, is quite high-spirited at the moment after their historic victory on Sunday.

Archer in whites after 4 years!

The right-arm fast bowler for England has been in and out of the squad on various occasions. The reason being his injuries, the bowler has found it tough to deal with the workload. Archer is all set to play his first test after a long gap of four years, which makes his return to the side even more exciting for England. On a fiery surface at Lord's, the bowler will be a hard challenge for the young Indian batters, who have impressed until now.

The English bowling unit will more likely step up in this game, given the fact that one of the quickest bowlers has come back to their side. Jofra will play alongside his fast-bowling mates, Brydon Carse and Chris Woakes, who have had a decent outing so far in the series.

A tough challenge for Indian batters

After a run fest in the first two matches, the Lord's welcomes India with a fiery and spicy surface. It is for sure that the wicket will favor the bowlers first up; a fine batting display will be required by the visitors to tackle the pace trio of England. India's young captain, Shubman Gill, has said that the team is very excited to play at Lord's. This is Gill's first match at Lord's.

Tongue makes way

Josh Tongue, who played the first two matches as a genuine fast bowler, has made way for the speed sensation Jofra Archer. Archer's return was expected in the second test itself, but he could not join the squad due to family reasons. Tongue has impressed so far with his accurate bowling but has to make way for Archer.
